Strawberry Masala Papad made with Indian style strawberry kachumber salad topped over roasted papad sprinkled with chaat masala and namkeen and served as an appetizer or as a side. A Tangy and Crispy Indian Snack. India is known for its diverse and flavorful snacks that often balance sweet, sour, spicy, and crunchy textures. One such unique snack is this Masala Papad - spicy and tangy strawberries served over a crispy lentil papad cracker. Ingredients
  • 1 cup Chopped Strawberries
  • ½ cup Finely Chopped Onion
  • 1 cup Chopped Cucumber
  • 2 Baby Raw Mango Peeled and Chopped
  • 2 Green Chilies Chopped Finely
  • ½ cup Chopped Coriander Leaves
  • ½ tsp Cumin Seeds Powder
  • ¼ tsp Ground Black Pepper
  • ¼ tsp Red Chili Powder
  • ½ tsp Black Salt or Salt
  • ½ Lime Juice
  • Sev
  • Masala Boondi(opt.)
  • ½ tsp Chaat Masala
  • 3-4 Lentil Papad
Instructions
  1. In a mixing bowl, add chopped strawberries, onion, cucumber, raw mango, 1⁄4 cup chopped coriander leaves, and green chilies.
  2. Sprinkle cumin seed powder, ground pepper, chili powder, salt, and squeeze lime juice over the ingredients.
  3. Gently mix everything together and set aside. The strawberry kachumber salad is now ready.
  4. Roast or fry the lentil papad until crispy, then arrange on a serving plate and top with the prepared strawberry salad.
  5. Now sprinkle some sev, masala boondi and chaat masala over the top. Garnish with additional chopped coriander leaves.
  6. Serve immediately and enjoy the Strawberry Masala Papad as a starter or snack.
Notes
You can add sprouted moong beans or other sprouted beans to the kachumber salad if desired.
Feel free to omit the cucumber, or mango if you don't like them.
Have all ingredients ready to go before frying the papad so you can top the salad right before serving. This prevents the papad from getting soggy.
