Chocolate Fig Tart made with dark chocolate, fresh figs and topped with sea salt. Chocolate tart, also known as chocolate cream pie with figs, is a dessert consisting of dark chocolate, cream, butter, and sugar, beaten together, poured into a crisp, sweetened pastry shell. It is considered a form of custard tart because it includes a creamy luscious filling and topped with fresh sweet juicy figs.

Ingredients
  • For Base
  • 1 cup Chocolate Graham Cracker Crumbs
  • ½ cup or 1 Stick Melted Butter
  • ½ cup Granulated Sugar
  • For Filling
  • 600 Grams Chopped 70% Dark Chocolate
  • 500 Grams Heavy Whipping cream
  • 200 Grams/1 Cup Sugar
  • For Topping
  • 8-10 Sliced Fresh Figs
  • ½ tsp Coarse Sea Salt
Instructions
  1. For Base
  2. In a bowl, add Graham cracker crumbs, sugar, salt, and melted butter, mix it well.
  3. Take a 9-inch Spring form tart tin. Spread the prepared mixture on base of the tart tin and press using your finger to form the base and sides.
  4. Place the tin in a freezer as we make the chocolate filling. Careful while holding it or place it on the plate before placing into the freezer.
  5. For Filling
  6. Melt the chocolate using double boiler method or in a microwave in 30 second intervals and mixing after each interval till it melts.
  7. In a saucepan, add heavy whipping cream, sugar, and stir it continuously over a medium heat util sugar dissolves completely. Do not boil it.
  8. Switch of the flame, add melted chocolate and stir it in the center with a spatula slowly. Once it all come together it would thicken little bit and create chocolate ganache.
  9. Now pour the mixture slowly into the prepared tart tin and spread it out.
  10. Place the tart again into the fridge for 6-7hrs until it sets hard.
  11. Finish tart garnishing with sliced fresh figs and sprinkle sea salt on the top. Keep it aside for ½ hr or more in room temperature, then cut it and serve.
Notes
If you are using less than 50% dark or milk chocolate, then no need to add sugar or adjust it as per your taste.
For base: if you are using plain graham crumbs, then add cocoa powder with sugar and butter.
You can add some chopped pieces of figs with chocolate filling before placing into the fridge.
