Method
- Add ginger-garlic paste and mix will using water as required, make thick but pouring consistency batter.
- Now take a small pan. Add oil, when oil heats enough, add mustard seeds, chana dal, curry leaves, pinch of asafetida and saut for few minutes.
- Pour the tampering over the Rava batter and mix well.
- In same pan roast the broken cashew nuts, and then add in Rava batter, mix well gently.
- Take a small bowl, add 1-2 tbsp lukewarm water, baking soda and mix well. Add this mixture into the Rava batter and mix well, now our Rava Idli batter is ready to make Idli.
- Now take an Idli maker or steamer, add water and bring it to boil.
- Take the Idli mold and grease it with few drops of oil.
- Pour the batter in the Idli mold, place it in the steamer and steam it for 6-7 minutes.
- Remove the molds from the steamer, let it be cool down, then remove the Idli from mold using blunt knife.
- Instant Rava Idli is ready to serve with Coriander Mint Chutney.
Notes
You can even add veggies in Rava batter like carrot or green peas.
