Pomegranate Mousse

Pomegranate Mousse is a creamy, airy, fluffy, silky, luscious, smooth and delicious. Pomegranate Mousse is an eggless, no sugar, no gelatin but still soft and rich. I would advise to use coconut or almond yogurt for vegan Pomegranate Mousse recipe.
Course: Dessert
Cuisine: World

Ingredients

  • 2 cup Pomegranate Arils
  • 2 cup Low Fat Greek Yogurt
  • 2 tbsp Honey
  • 10-12 Agar-Agar Strands
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
For Garnishing
  • ¼ cup Pomegranate Arils for Topping
  • Few Mint Leaves
  • Chopped Pistachios optional

Method

  1. Blend pomegranate arils in a juicer with ¼ cup of water, pass the juice through a sieve so that the small remains of the hard seeds get removed and keep aside.
  2. Now add yogurt, vanilla extract and honey in a mixing bowl, whisk it very well and make a smooth creamy texture.
  3. Take a small bowl. Add ¼ cup hot water, add chopped agar-agar strands and mix it well till dissolve very well, keep aside.
  4. Now add pomegranate juice into the yogurt mixture, add agar-agar mixture, whisk it again and mix well.
  5. Now pour the mixture into small glasses or cup or small jar and keep inside a refrigerator for 2-3 hours till set.
  6. Pomegranate mousse is ready, garnish it with some pomegranate arils, chopped pistachios, mint leaves and serve chilled.

Notes

  • You can use ready made pomegranate juice.
  • You can use gelatin instead of agar-agar (Agar-agar is a gelatin substitute for vegetarian).
  • You can use regular yogurt, just hang it in a muslin cloth for 2 hours before using.
  • You can use coconut or almond yogurt for vegan recipe.
  • You can use Sugar instead of Honey.
