Masala Cheese Toast Sandwich

Masala Cheese Toast Sandwich is a popular street food in Mumbai. Masala Cheese Toast Sandwich is stuffed with potato masala, cheese and butter. This Masala Cheese Toast Sandwich is best for breakfast or kids’ lunch box. It is very delicious and mouthwatering street food, just loving it!

Ingredients:

Green Chutney (Blend all ingredients and make smooth paste)
• 1 cup chopped Coriander
• 2-3 clove Garlic
• 2 Green Chilies
• Salt
• 1/2 Lemon Juice
• Water

Masala
• 1/2 tbsp oil
• 1/4 tsp Mustard Seeds
• 4-5 Curry Leaves
• 2 cup boiled and mashed Potatoes
• 1 cup boiled Green Peas
• 1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder
• 2 tsp Ginger-Green chili paste
• 1 tbsp chopped coriander
• Salt

Other Ingredients
• Bread Slices
• Melted Butter
• 1/4 cup Cucumber peeled and cut into slices
• 1/4 Cup Onion peeled and cut into slices
• 1/4 cup Tomato cut into slices
• 1/4 cup Capsicum cut into sliced
• Cheese slice or grated (opt.)
• Butter for greasing and cooking

Method:

Masala
1. Heat the oil in a pan and add mustard seeds.
2. When seeds crackle, add curry leaves, ginger-green chili paste, boiled – mashed potatoes, green peas, turmeric powder, coriander and salt one by one.
3. Mix well and cook 3-4 minutes.
4. Remove from the flame and keep aside to cool.

Sandwich
1. Take 2 slices of bread.
2. Apply 1 tsp of butter and ½ tsp of green chutney on each slice and keep aside.
3. Place the stuffing masala and spread it on one slice of bread.
4. Now arrange few cucumber slices, onion slices, tomato slices, capsicum slices and cheese slices over the stuffing.
5. Put another slice of bread over it with the buttered side facing downwards and press it lightly.
6. Now place prepared sandwich in a greased toaster, spread 1 tsp of butter on it and cook till it turns brown.
7. When it turns brown, remove from the toaster and place it on a plate. Now apply ½ tsp of butter evenly over it.
8. Masala Cheese Toast Sandwich is ready to serve hot with tomato ketchup.
