I have small patio garden here in the USA and every year in spring time I have been planting some flowers, herbs and some veggie plants in my small patio. I wish if I could grow more plants like my mom’s house not that much but at least some to fulfill my desire. In my mom’s house in India we have big back yard with lots of different kinds of flowers, fruit, veggies and herbs plant so from child hood I love gardening and love spending time in with taking care of plant. But here it is not possible to make garden like that which we have in India…. yes, because most difficult part is almost 6-month weather is full of winter, chill and snowy. However last year I planted couple of rose plants of different colors and it was grown perfectly but when winter started I was bit worried as it was dying. Though let’s keep these plants inside the house may be these plants can grow, I never know that it can and believe it or not, these plants were grown perfectly inside the house and started to give me roses as usual. I was so happy. And now magically in this summer these rose plants have been giving me bunch of roses, I don’t know seriously what happened but it just a supernatural mystery for me it’s good though 🙂 . Other day I was just wondering what to do with these bunch of fresh roses and then today finally I have decided to make Rose Ice Cream and it just turned out amazingly delicious and yummy.
Ingredients:
• 2 cup Whole Milk
• 1 cup Whipping Cream/Fresh Cream
• 1 tbsp Corn Flour/Arrowroot Powder
• ½ cup Sugar
• ¼ cup Rose Syrup/Rooh Afza
• 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
• ¼ cup Rose Petals (optional)
Method:
1. Take a deep pan. Add corn flour and 3-4 tbsp milk in it and mix it properly, make sure no lump there.
2. Then add remaining milk and sugar and boil it for 7-8 minutes on medium flame. Remove it from the flame and keep aside till cool down.
3. Now in a mixing bowl add whipping cream and whisk it using hand blender till foamy texture.
4. Add whipped cream into the cooled milk mixture. Add rose syrup and vanilla extract in it and mix well till it becomes pink mixture.
5. Pour the mixture into the any metal or plastic container, cover it and place it into the freezer for 1-2 hours.
6. After 1-2 hours stir the mixture using spoon, then add rose petals and again mix it, cover it and place the container again into the freezer for 6-7 hour or overnight till it becomes hard texture.
7. Rose Ice Cream is ready. You can serve chilled and garnish it with fresh rose petals, dry fruits and enjoy the royal treat…
