Kumquat Marmalade is a quick recipe made up of marmalade using kumquats. Kumquat Marmalade is a tasty and simple to make. Kumquat Marmalade is bit tangy in taste with a bright color, to make this delicious tangy Kumquat marmalade, preserve with tart kumquat fruits. I didn’t even know what a kumquat was until I moved here in the USA and I discovered them in one of the local farmers market. Now I love using them for marmalade.

Kumquats are like tiny oranges from citrus family, but Kumquats aren’t like other citrus fruit. Instead of having a tart rind and a sweet interior, they keep their sugar in the skin and have their pucker on the inside, not great for eating, kumquats have a wonderful flavor somewhere between an orange and a mandarin. Because you’re meant to eat the skin, kumquats have been bred to be less bitter with tender flavorful skin.

This makes them perfect for making marmalade. The best part about this recipe is that you don’t need to add pectin. That’s because citrus peels contain as much as 30% naturally occurring pectin. Use on toast, with cheese and yogurt, or just serve with sliced sourdough bread or spread on crackers and enjoy.
