Til Mungfali Ke Laddu

Til Mungfali Ke Laddu is very popular during wintertime specially in festival like Makar Sankranti and Lohri. Til Mungfali Ke is incredibly delicious, healthy and very easy to make. Til Mungfali Ke Laddu takes less than 30 mins to prepare. Til Mungfali Ke Laddu is prepared with sesame seeds, peanut, coconut and jaggery syrup. These laddus are very popular in Maharashtra and Gujarat.

Nutritious Benefits:

Sesame Seeds – Packed with medicinal properties, offering a range of health benefits. Health experts say that while the antioxidant properties present in the seeds help in anti-ageing, the rich omega fatty acids content triggers hair growth. The powerful seeds rich in vitamins, minerals, natural oils and organic compounds can help prevent diabetes, certain cancers, lower blood pressure and promote heart health.

Peanuts – Peanuts are an especially good source of healthful fats, protein, and fiber. They also contain plenty of potassium, phosphorous, magnesium, and B vitamins. Despite being high in calories, peanuts are nutrient-rich and low in carbohydrates.

Desiccated Coconut – Coconut meat is the white flesh of coconuts and is edible fresh or dried. Rich in fiber and MCTs, it may offer a number of benefits, including improved heart health, weight loss, and digestion. Yet, it’s high in calories and saturated fat, so you should eat it in moderation.

Jaggery – Jaggery is a sweetener that’s becoming popular as a “healthy” replacement for sugar. What’s more, this sweetener has been given a serious health halo. It’s often referred to as a “superfood sweetener”. Some common health claims include improved digestive health, anemia prevention, liver detoxification and improved immune function.

Til Mungfali Ke Laddu

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup Sesame Seeds/Til
  • ½ cup Desiccated Coconut
  • 1 cup Peanuts/Mungfali
  • 1 cup Grated Jaggery/Gud
  • 1 tbsp Ghee
  • ¼ tsp Cardamom Powder

Method:

  1. Roast the sesame seeds and coconut separately till slightly golden brown, remove it in a mixing bowl and keep aside.
  2. Now, roast the peanut on low to medium flame till it becomes crunchy and get brown spots, remove it on a plate and let it cool down.
  3. Once cool down remove the skin of peanuts, clean it and coarse blend it in a mixer grinder, do not make powder.
  4. Remove it in same mixing bowl of roasted sesame seeds and coconut, mix it and keep aside.
  5. Take a deep kadhai or pan and add ghee, grated jaggery, 1 or 2 tbsp water and stir it using spatula and cook it on medium flame, it will start bubbling, stir it continuously.
  6. Take a small bowl of water and drop a few drops of foamy jaggery syrup in it using spoon/spatula, it will set in bottom of the bowl and becomes candy form, check with finger.
  7. Once it becomes candy form switch of the flame and add sesame, peanut and coconut mixture, cardamom powder and mix it well.
  8. Remove the prepared in the mixture mixing bowl and make small-small balls/laddus out of the warm mixture.
  9. Til Mungfali Ke Laddu is ready to eat now!

Tips:

  • You can skip ghee if you want, but it makes laddu slightly chewy.
  • Don’t let the laddu mixture to cool down otherwise you won’t be able to form in round shape.
  • If you are not able to handle hot mixture use scoop and then give it round shape.
  • You can add dry fruits if you like.
