hey guys…I hope you all are doing well…it is been a while I was disconnected with you all. Actually, I was busy in moving to my new house, so could not get much time. And being a good housewife and mom, just dedicated myself to unpacking stuff, exploring a new location and kid’s school. I also got a few projects, so was trying to keep projects dead lines with busy schedule. Now slowly, I am trying to gear up my self.
However, I am very much thankful to my all visitors, who were keep coming to my blog without any new recipes and help me to keep my blog a live. big big thanks to them….

Dahi Batata Puri is a delicious North Indian street food and also called as Dahi Puri Chaat. Dahi Batata Puri is a popular chaat recipe. Dahi Batata Puri is loved by all ages of people. It is originated from Mumbai (Maharashtra, India).

Crispy puris stuffed with a potato mixture topped with sev, coriander, mint and tamarind chutney and yoghurt. It’s perfect for party or family get together or celebration it can easily prepare I large quantity and ingredients can be prepare in advance or day before, you just need to assemble at time of serving with choice of taste.

The round, crispy and puffy puri shell is first broken on top and partially filled with the main stuffing of mashed potatoes and moong beans or chickpeas. A small amount of Chilli powder or chaat masala, or both, added for taste, as well as a pinch of salt. Sweet chutney and spicy green chutney are then poured into the shell, on top of the stuffing. Finally, sweetened beaten yoghurt is generously poured over the shell, and the finished product is garnished with sprinklings of sev, pomegranate, finely chopped coriander leaves and some chaat masala sprinkle on top.

Dahi Batata Puri

Ingredients:

• 30-40 Pani Puri’s Puri
• 3 cup Plain Yogurt
• 2-3 Medium Sized Potatoes (Boiled in Water with Salt)
• 1 cup Moong Beans (Soaked and Boiled in Water with Salt)
• 1 cup Green Chutney
• ½ cup Khajur Imli Ki Chutney/Sweet Chutney
• Salt

Other ingredients for Garnishing
• ½ cup Chopped Onion
• ½ cup Chopped Tomatoes
• 1 cup Chopped Coriander Leaves
• ½ cup Pomegranate Arils
• 1 cup Sev
• 2-3 tbsp Roasted Cumin Seeds Powder
• 2-3 Tbsp Chaat Masala
• 2 tbsp Red Chili Powder

Method:

1. Take a bowl. Add plain yogurt, ¼ tsp of salt and ¼ cup of water, whisk it, make a smooth sauce and keep aside.
2. Peel and mash the boiled potatoes. Add ¼ tsp red chili powder, salt and ¼ tsp chaat masala, mix it and keep aside.
3. Drain the water from boiled moong beans, crush it using spoon and set aside.
4. Now arrange all ingredients and prepared stuffing on a serving table for assembling.
5. Take a plate. Arrange 6-8 puris on the plate, crack it on the top and make a hole on each puri for stuffing.
6. Stuff prepared mashed potatoes, moong beans and then pour the prepared 2-3 tbsp yogurt sauce in each puri.
7. Add green chutney, sweet chutney and some chopped onions and tomatoes over it.
8. Now garnish it with sev, chopped coriander leaves, pomegranate, sprinkle some red chili powder, chaat masala and roasted cumin powder.
9. Dahi Batata Puri Chaat is ready, serve it immediately and enjoy. Make more plates of Dahi Batata Puris following the same method.

Tips:

• If yogurt is thick, then add more water to make slightly pourable sauce.
• You can use yellow peas or chickpeas instead of moong beans.
• Stuffing and assembling ingredients as per choice, you can customize your Dahi Batata Puri per your taste.
