    Great recipe..better fried than baked

  12. Rick Longster

When I moved them from the last rise to the hot oil, they deflated. What to do. No problem baking them on the parchment paper but can’t seem to move them successfully to oil.

    • Binjal's VEG Kitchen

i think your dough is more soft/loose use little bit less water next time!or before potting on parchment paper just sprinkle some dry flour so you can easily lift up them! 🙂

      • Richard J Longster

I saw on a cooking show where they cut the parchment paper to the size of the donut and move the donut to the oil on the parchment paper. Worked great and the parchment paper floats off and is easily removed from the oil.

  13. thank you soo much for the recipe.love it!

  18. harsimran kaur

hi Binjal, can i use cooking oil instead of melted butter and baking soda instead of baking powder or are they the same thing

    • Binjal's VEG Kitchen

Hi Harsimran Kaur, you can use oil instead of butter or use vegetable margarine (like Dalda). Baking soda and baking powder, both are different you can just skip it! it won’t effect that much on the recipe. thank you 🙂

  19. Turned out delicious ? and easy to make – thank you

  20. Hello Binjal, I am making your recipe today and for some reason my dough is very firm/ stiff? I have been adding water and nothing has happened, I was wondering what i could do?

    • Binjal's VEG Kitchen

Hey Kristin! sorry for late reply, if dough become stiff, use little by little warm milk and knead it till become soft and sticky 🙂

Made twice and dough is not rising as noted in a previous comment (tried two different types of yeast and ensured milk was warm). The directions give a range of ingredients in many cases which for a novice baker is frustrating.

    • Binjal's VEG Kitchen

Hey I’m not sure what is wrong, I think you used very warm or very cold milk, whenever you use warm milk check with your finger you will feel, then use.

  22. I made these tonight and they were perfect! Thanks for the recipe. ?

  23. Hello, I was hoping you could help me. I’ve tried making this two times and the dough isn’t rising, it’s dry and stiff. What am I doing wrong?

    • Binjal's VEG Kitchen

I think you used less water! I already mentioned in recipe, dough should be sticky and use good quality of yeast, dissolve it in warm milk not hot or cold, otherwise it will kill yeast and will effect on rising the dough! please follow the tips and exact recipe hope this help 🙂

  24. Hi binjal would be trying this recipe today.please let me know how many donuts can be made with this recipe.awaiting response. I need to make 3 dz .

  25. Thanks so much for this recipe Binjal! The donuts turned out really great and I’m glad I finally have a good eggless recipe to count on 🙂

  26. Crystal Gregg

  27. Sky Zink

Hello Binjal, I was wondering if this recipe would work if I used rice milk instead of milk and non-dairy butter? I’m very allergic to milk and eggs and I’d love to try your recipe. 🙂

    • Binjal's VEG Kitchen

You can use almond or soya milk instead of regular milk! yes non Dairy butter will work perfect 🙂

These were FRICKIN AMAZING!!! I’m obsessed. I added maybe a tablespoon coconut oil and a tablespoon water to the dough since it didn’t become sticky, and it made the trick. These donuts are fluffy and oh so good. And, they have such simple ingredients, a lot of vegan recipes are fussy with different kinds of egg replacers, but this was super simple. I coated mine with sugar and some with a maple glaze. SO GOOD.

  29. How long will these last for??

  30. kalindi patel

Hi Binjal, I don’t eat eggs and so cannot eat most of the doughnuts, since they have eggs. So, would love to try these. Will let you know how they turn out. Thanks.
